History
Established in the early 1900's as a sharecropping farm, the land was purchased by Kenneth and Cora Johnson in 1944. The Johnson family planted nearly 500 trees per year for many years and have given rise to one of the most beautiful pieces of land in the area.
The original farmhouse had no running water or electricity and had a crank-style telephone. A trap door in the pantry floor led to a root cellar below.
The Johnson's later added luxury's such as water with a windmill pump that piped water into the house!
One of the Johnsons dreams was that the property would someday be turned into homesites for families that would appreciate the abundance and beauty of the land. It is rare to find a family with such dedication to the land they nurtured for so many years.
